12 commonly thought questions by anyone who books a marquee for the first time...
1) When will the marquee company set up & take down the marquee?
If your event is on Saturday, the marquee company will usually set up on Wednesday/Thursday & takedown on Sunday or Monday. More set up and take down.
2) Can I decorate the marquee myself?
Yes! After the marquee has been set up it's yours to decorate. High-end marquee companies will often offer marquee styling at an additional cost.
3) Will the tables come with linen?
No, table linen needs to be hired separately. Some marquee companies can supply linen at a cost. Caterers will often provide linen. What tables can I hire?
4) How do I reserve the marquee?
Once you have compared lots of quotes & found the marquee you want, you can book it by putting down a 30% deposit. The marquee company usually request the final 70% two weeks before your event. How to book and pay for your marquee.
5) Can I change my order after booking?
Of course! If you suddenly have more guests coming it’s easy to add more tables, chairs and to make the marquee bigger. Just remember any changes can affect the final amount you pay. Read up on after sales support.
6) Will I need a generator?
Maybe, some venues have a power source for the marquee. But, always triple check with the venue owner that they are 100% sure there is enough power for your event. It’s not just the marquee that needs power, the caterers & the bar also need it. More information on generators.
7) Can I hire furniture from Marqueebookings.co.uk?
Yep, of course, you can! 😀 what else you can hire?
8) Do I have to book the furniture with you with you?
Nope, you can book the marquee & hire the furniture independently, but you will have to pay a delivery cost with each company you hire stuff from.
9) Can I meet the marquee company?
Yes, we can set up a site visit before or after you pay the booking deposit. If your site looks tricky or small, we will arrange a site visit before you pay the deposit to make sure the marquee can be erected (we wouldn't want to find out on the day)! Site visits, what are they?
10) Why are some marquees more expensive than others?
The main factors that increase the price of a marquee are the type of marquees the companies own and how new (and expensive) their stock is.
11) When should I book a marquee?
It depends on how big your event is. If you need a marquee for a small party then you can get away with booking 6 months in advance. However, wedding marquees get booked at least 1 (sometimes 2) years in advance. I would start looking for a marquee at least 2 years before your wedding with the aim of booking 1-2 years before your wedding.
12) What marquee can I afford with my budget type?
How much you spend on your marquee is influenced by how big the marquee needs to be to fit your guests in & how bespoke you choose to make it. For example, a frame marquee can be affordable if you keep it simple, but if you add bespoke items like star cloths ceilings they become more and more expensive. Or if you have a wedding with 200 guests the marquee needs to be big, you need more tables, chairs, flooring etc.
